With the demand of curbing the arbitrariness of private schools in the new session, 45 political and social organizations have organized a rally in Doon, along with the parents. It demanded the government to work in the interests of the parents. On Friday, people associated with social and political organizations under the National Association for Parents and Students Rights (NPSR) banners gathered at Parade Ground. Rally from DM office of Lansdowne Chowk, Buddha Chowk, Doon Hospital Chowk.
The people associated with the organization for plaques in slogans raised slogans against various charges being taken by the parents. At the same time, the people of the DM Access Organization sent a memorandum to the governor through Deputy Collector, Brajesh Tiwari. Parents demand NCERT books mandatory in schools affiliated to the Education Regulatory Commission, Uttarakhand Fees Act, Transport Act, CBSE and ICSE. NPSR chairman Arif Khan said that due to the government’s ignorance, private schools charge arbitrarily.
Parents complained about more than 150 schools in complaint panel but no action was taken. In such a way, the arbitrariness of private schools is increasing. Examine schools on complaints of official parents, strict action should be taken against schools found to be found wrong. Employee leader Jagmohan Mehndiratta said that private schools are exploiting parents.
