Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat inaugurated the festival by cutting ribbons at the Tehri Lake Festival. On this occasion, he said that the government is very sensitive to tourism. He said that the Government will develop new Tourist Destination across the state. Tell that has launched a three-day Lake Festival today which will be able to land with quality cultural events, including Aero and water adventure sports.
It is worth mentioning that in the year 2014, the government had started the Tehri Lake Festival to link the huge lake spread over 42 sq km of the country’s highest Tehri dam. From this year the government has decided to organize the lake festival every February in the month of February. In view of this, all preparations for the third Tehri Lake Festival have been completed in the coastal colony of the lake. On February 25, the cultural parade of artists from the North Central Cultural Center (NCZCC), cultural evening and musical band of folk singer Reshma Shah will be presented in the festival. 26 will be presented by Padmashri folk singer Pritam Bharatwana and Sufi and ghazal singer Indira Nayak.
Fashion Show and Star Night will be organized on 28th February with master chef competition and traditional costumes. To join the Tehri Lake Festival, tourists can reach New Tehri through all three means of road, rail and air traffic. Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Devprayag etc. are connected to Tehri road. While the nearest railway station is Rishikesh and the airport is Joulegrant. After coming here, the tourists can reach the new Tehri from the bus or taxi with the help of a chamba.
