President launched the Solar Charkha Mission
The President of Indian Ramnath Kovin inaugurated the Solar Chakra Mission which covers the 50 clusters and give jobs to upto 2000 artisans.
He also releases a portal of Ministry of MSME called “Sampark”. In this sector i.e. MSME named by “Udyam Sangam” goes through the synergy consolidation of all the govt initiatives.
Oxytocin formulations ban from 1st July 2018
The production of Oxytocin formulations for domestic use is restricted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This will be enforced from 1st July 2018.
Karnataka Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (KAPL) is the only company for the manufacting of this drug for domestic use. It helps in milk production for the humans and also in cattle such as buffalo, cows.
India pledges $5 Million for Palestinian aid
India has raised 5 million USD in joint efforts with UNO for the help in the severe funding crisis for the Palestinian refugees. This is started with the 20 countries who announce the contribution in the budget for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. It is based on the voluntary contribution from the states and in this US is the biggest contributor.
Haddad and Nabarro win World Food Prize
The World Food Price 2018 is won by theLawrence Haddad and David Nabarro. Thos price was started by the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Norman Borlaug in 1986. It aims to create a recognition platform for the scientists who worked for the improved the quality and availability of food.
The award winners has worked to provide nutritious food for the pregnant ladies and childrens to help them getting better nutrition and prevent malnutrition in developing countries.
PSB’s account for 85% of bank fraud cases
PSB accounts for the staggering 85% fraud cases which amounts up to Rs 30,000 Cr. The bank frauds in 2018 alone costs up to Rs 10,000 Cr. In the year 2017, there were around 5,000 cases reported by multiple banks which amount to Rs 20,000 Cr. PSB has a dis proportional share of 85% which exceeds the business share up to 65% to 75%.
British Queen approves Brexit law
Queen Elizabeth granted a royal assent to the PM Theresa May’s Brexit legislation on 26th June. The debate over the legislation will formally end the country’s EU membership. The E.U bill would repel the 1972 European Communities Act through which Britain had become a member of EU. The Brexit Day is slated as March 29, 2019.
S Ramesh appointed as Chairman of CBIC
S Ramesh is the new Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), the apex policy-making body for indirect taxes. He is an officer of the Indian Revenue Service had mandated with the responsibility of implementing the Goods and Services Tax (GST). The CBIC works for the Finance Ministry and is head by the Chairman and can have maximum si x members.
DBS Bank to launch subsidiary in India
Bank of Singapore has decided to open its bracnh in the country in October 2018. This isthe second bacnk who is converting it into local operations. The banks has invested Rs. 500 Cr which may be extended to the 50 branches. The first bank was State Bank of Mauritius which was under RBI regulations in 2013.
RBI’s Financial Stability Report on NPA’s
The financial stability report of the RBI has warned the gross NPA for the troubled banks to rise from 11.6% in March 2018 to 12.2% by March 2019. The gross NPA has already upto the mark of Rs 10,00,000 crore mark in the fiscal ended March 2018. The system level capital to risk weighted assets ratio may come down to the 13.5% to 12.8%.
India records highest number of IPOs globally
The highest recorded IPO in Indian Exchanges saw the country in 90 branches to raise up to $3.9 billion. The exchange account for the total issues in the first half is 16% in 2018. The deals that are listed in the NSE & BSE results to 93% for the total proceeds. The strong grwoth continues to go with the financial sector, infrastructure and consumer companies.
Jai Hind 1-S: World’s lightest satellite
The four students in Chennai built the world’s lightest and cheapest satellite which weights only 33.39 grams. The satellite is named as Jai Hind 1-S and will be launched in August 2018. It works to analyse the temperature, UV density and vapour pressure, at various points of the satellite’s upward journey. It is helpful for the research and understanding of the environment in outer space.
ISRO to find nuclear fuel on moon
ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) will launch the rover in October 2018 with Chandrayan 2 which aims to explore the virgin territory on the lunar surface and analyze crust samples for the signs of the water and helium-3.
This isotopes is abundant on moon and it can meet the energy requirements of the globe for upto 250 years. This rover is powered by the solar energy and will collect the information for 14 days on the surface of the moon.
China to cut tariffs on soybean from India
China will cut imports of soybean from Indian and other goods . The supply cut is also from other asian countries from July 1. China has decreased the imports from the five countries which was 3% and it now going to be 0 from 3%. This step shows that the war of Soybean trade is won by China from US who was a major supplier of soybeans to China.
Naval exercise RIMPAC to begin in Hawaii
The Naval exercise RIMPAC which is the world’s largest Biennial multi-lateral naval exercise will start on 27th June cost off Hawaii in Western Pacific Ocean.
This 26th edition of RIMPAC is participated from India by Indian Naval Ship Sahyadri. This exercise will provide a platform for India to increase interoperability and understanding of maritime security operations.
EPFO changes provision for withdrawing funds
EPFO has changed the provision for the employees to withdraw their 75% funds after month of unemployment. And after two months of unemployment, the member will have an option to withdraw the next 25% funds. These provisions are done under the Employee Provident Fund Scheme 1952.
US Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley visits India
Nikki Haley ,US Ambassador to the UN, came to India on two days visit. She will meet the senior Indian government officials, NGO leaders, and the interfaith community to underscore the United States’ shared values and a strong alliance with the people of India. Nikki Haley is the first Indian American who serves in the Cabinet-level position in any US presidential administration.
Mumbai costlier than Washington and Melbourne
According to a survey Mumbai is the costliest city in India. In the comparisaon , the cost of living is more than the Washington and Melbourne. In the same survey, the Hong Kong is the world costliest city to live for the nomads which is followed by Tokyo, Zurich, Singapore, and Seoul. Even Bangalore has been told as a reasonable city for the nomads.
EAM Sushma Swaraj launched Passport Seva app
Sushma Swaraj , the Ministry of External Affairs has launched the Mobile Passport Application on the Passport Sewa Diwas on 26 June 2018 in New Delhi. The App named mPassportSeva app, where people can apply for the passport from any part of the country. The verification process will be done for the address provided on the app and the other step for the simplification of the passport service.
Sanitation Plan for Swachh Iconic Places
The ten heritage of country has been selected by an institute aiming to raise the standard for the sanitation standards. This plan will be formulated to the two days consultation in hyderabad held between the central and State Government agencies, local administrations & the Trusts of the iconic places. It aims to improve the sanitation on an extreme high level at these places.
15th India-Australia Ministerial Commission
The 15th India-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) was held on 25th June 2018, in Canberra, Australia. This meeting was headed by the Minister of Commerce & Industry & Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu & Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism & Investment Steven Ciobo. A MoU is also signed by the Austrade and Invest-India in order to facilitate bilateral investment flows.
