Indian Army Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process
Army is the only institution which provide job every year to thousand of capable people but there are various field in this department for which different qualities are required fields like technical, Medical, Mechanical, Ground duty, Field Duty and many other post which require different education. Eligibility Criteria
To enter in the Army there are various ways you can either join by direct recruitment or by the mode of written exam. There are various exam from which some of them are conducted by the Indian Army and some conducted by other authority like UPSC. You can give the exam like NDA and CDS to join the army at the officer level. There are various vacancies for other occupation in the army also.
Education Qualification
There are various post vacant in the department and each require different qualification as the post got changes

(a)Sol Tech 10+2/Intermediate Exam go in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with half marks in total and 40% checks in each subject.
(b)Sol Tech (Aviation and Ammunition Examiner) 10 +2/Intermediate exam go in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with half checks in total and 40% marks in each subject.OR Three years Diploma in Engg (Mechanical/Electrical/Automobiles/Computer Science Mechanical Engg and Electronic and Instrumentation Engg) from a perceived Polytechnic Institute. |
3 | Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical (All Arms) | (I) Must have secured half checks In each subject and 60% stamps in total in class XII. They must have contemplated English and Maths/Accts/Book Keeping in Class XII or X. Even if a competitor is a graduate or has a higher capability rate marks scored in Class XII would be pertinent towards his qualification. |
4 | Soldier Nursing Assistant (Army Medical Corps) | 10+2 / Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% in each subject. OR In case the candidate has a BSc Degree with (Botany / Zoology / Bio-Science) and English, the stipulation of percentage in Class-XII is waived off. However, the candidate should have studied all the four specified subjects in Class XII also. |

9 | Junior Commissioned Officer Catering (Army Service Corp) | 10+2 or proportional exam and Diploma/Certificate Course of a span of one year or more in Cookery Hotel Management and Catering Technology from a perceived University/Food Craft Institute. AICTE acknowledgement isn’t compulsory. |
10 | Havildar Education (Army Education Corps) | Group X – MA / MSc / MCA or BA / BSc / BCA / BSc (IT) with B Ed Group Y – BSc/BA/BCA/B Sc (IT) (w/o B Ed.) |
Note:- These are the post which are required by the candidates to grab a job in the Army there are many post in the department but there education qualification is the basic knowledge which you get in the school and colleges. Note: As you can see that the age limits are different at different post. If you are applying for the NDA your minimum age should be 17.5 years & maximum age is 21 and for CDS it is 21 years and the max. age is 24 years
Indian Army Physical Measurements
Indian Army follows the rules strictly and if you are not physically fit according to the officer than you are not allowed to go further in the Army. The physical measurement are given in the below table according to the area wise.

Note: As you can see that the measurements are different according to the land area and we must tell you that the relaxation is given to the candidates are according to the regulation by the authority and the states to the deserving candidates.
Indian Army Selection Process
The Indian Army is a known authority who is known for certain rules and keeping equality among others. There are various ways which the government had applied to recruit the cadet in the department. They conduct the exam every year for the deserving candidates to join the authority some of the known exam are NDA and CDS and they are written exam conducted twice a year. This is the easy exam which the candidates need to clear in order to show their educational skills.
Physical Test (SSB)
Once the candidates clear the physical exam they need to give the exam or the SSB to follow further steps. In the physical Test they need to have the body measurements set by the department which is given above and after that they need to go through some test which include running, Weight lifting pull ups, Push ups, sits ups and many more. Running
In running candidates need to run 1.6 km in 5.30 min for Group 1 and for Group 2 candidates need to run in 5.30 to 6 min and the marks for them is 60and 48 respectively.
Pull Ups
- 10 Pull Ups: – 40 Marks
- 9 Pull Ups: – 33 Marks
- 8 Pull Ups: – 27 Marks
- 7 Pull Ups: – 21 Marks
- 6 Pull Ups: – 16 Marks
There are other two test which does not carry any marks but you should be pass in them according to the officer. These test are balancing and Zig Zag.
Indian Army Medical Exam
Before completing the process candidates need to follow the procedure of Medical exam to know that if candidates are not suffering from an kind of disease and are not unfit for the post and to prevent any problems arising in the future. A post of soldiers requires to have a nice physical structure and mental health. The possibility for the post of warrior in the Army ought to have ordinary hearing with every ear and great binocular vision in the two eyes.
