In the admission of the Right to Education Act (RTE) quota, there is a big scandal in private schools. This was revealed in an investigation conducted under RTE in private schools. Many schools are running without recognition in the capital under the government’s nose. There are also many who have started the classes of pre primary illegally. On July 19, on the direction of the government, orders were made to investigate private schools under RTE. The Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan headquarters has now sent the Dehradun report to the government, while the report of the remaining districts is being finalized. The APD of the campaign, Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, said that the state level report would also be submitted to the government soon. In spite of a large army of officers in the Education Department, rigging on this scale in the capital indicates connivance.Schools have a long process of recognition. A CEO in every district, two DEOs along with BEOs and sub-training officers are also appointed in each block. Despite this, regular check-up of schools is serious in itself.
- 46 private schools were running without recognition. Out of these, four schools are affiliated to CBSE-ICSE but did not get recognition from the state.
- RTE is also being violated in schools without accreditation. Admission of eligible students has not been given in these.
- Additional classes are being conducted despite recognition from classes one to eight.
- RTE quota students’ fees have also been rigged. The record of nine schools in Sahaspur and the record of the Department of Education has been found. Many schools have more students than scheduled quota.
