Bank Probationary Officer (Bank PO): This is a managerial post in the bank. The candidates who are recruited as PO are for 1 to 2 year training and then promoted for the the Assistant Managers (AM) or Deputy Managers (DM). The salary of Bank PO is from 30,000 to 40,000. This depends on the bank and the location of posting.
Bank Clerks: The clerk position in a bank is called as a entry level of the bank jobs. The salary of Bank clerks ranges from 20k to 25k depends on the bank and location of posting.
Specialist Officers (SO): There are various specialist officers in the Bank based on some technical expertise like IT Officer, HR Officer, Marketing Officer, Finance Officer, Law Officer, Agriculture Officer etc. The rank and the starting salary of SO is same as the Bank’s PO. (Probationary Officers).

Phase-1: SBI PO Preliminary Examination 2018
The Preliminary Exam of SBI PO is an online exam that needs to complete in one hour. The maximum marks for the exam is 100 marks. The test is based on the 3 sections and the candidates have to clear the overall cut-off marks only.

Phase-2: SBI PO Mains Exam 2018
This is the second phase of 155 questions in the duration of three hours. The exam is divided into four sections i.e.

- Data Analysis & Interpretation
- General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness
- English Language.

Descriptive Test:
The descriptive test is a full duration of half hour with a score of fifty marks. The test is conducted on the test for the writing skills which is Letter Writing & Essay Writing.
Negative Marking
The negative marking for the each wrong attempt is on the Objective type questions i.e. Preliminary and Mains Exam i.e. of 0.25 marks. Nomarks deduction is done for the question leaving.
Phase-3: Group Exercise & Interview
The total marks of the candidates is based on the Objective and Descriptive test and is going to be arranged in the descending order in each category. The number of categories in the candidate vacancies are governed by the Bank is called for the Group Excercises and the Interview. The qualifying marks in the Group Exercises & Interview is decided by the Bank. Group exercises account for 20 marks while Interview is for 30 marks.

The three major sections on a candidate focus must be Preliminary round of the SBI PO exam. These subjects are Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.
