Quantitative Aptitude

Quantitative Aptitude is one of the most difficult subject in all the sections in the tier 1. The topics in the section are based on 10th class. English Language

Study Plan For SSC CGL Tier II

So after the Tier 1 exam is cleared , then you can start with the preparation of Tier 2 exam. The challenge to the students is now filtered with handful of students.

The Tier 2 exam is based on the preparation of 50 to 60 days. After the results of Tier 1 result is announced, you can start with the syllabus & start covering the topics. So the time will be very much useful to you. You can even crack the exam in such a low competiton & never need to see on the back.

The changes made in the exam pattern by the commission is based on the four sections. The four sections in the exam are Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension, Statistics and General Studies (Finance and Economics).

The first two sections are compulsory but the other two are specific to some of the posts.

Paper I and II(Quantitative Aptitude and English) – Both of these paper are compulsory for all the aspirants of all post categories.

Paper III(Statistics) – Only those aspirants who have applied for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and compilers have to appear for this paper.

Paper IV(Economics & Finance) – This paper is only for those who have applied for Assistant Audit Officer(AAO) post.

How To Crack SSC CGL Mains

The difficulty level of the exam is not so much in the SSC CGL exam in Tier 1 & Tier 2 exam. The tier 2 exam is based on the number of questions in each section & it increases. They are based on complex questions which requires better speed and understanding to clear the exam.

Key points to remember

  • The negative marking is same as the Tier 1 exam.
  • The sections are of duration of 2 hours. and you have toanswer 200 questions(100 for quant), so while practicing utilize your time wisely.
  • There is a sectional cutoff & overall cutoff in the Tier 2. You need to qualify all the sections in the same. You have to score aggregate marks of all paper which are fixed by the commission.

Now let us go to the next part of the Tier 2 exam. You have to be very clear and accurate in any of the section in tier 2.

Statistics

The statistics exam is based on the Graduate level questions. The chances that you need to study more about this subject because majority of students do not have any subject like this in graduation. It is basically an advance version of mathematics. If you have a good command in Maths, then you can easily study the subject without any difficulty.

The main topics are Skewness and Kurtosis, Time series, Correlation and Regression, Probability Theory, Analysis, Sampling Theory, Statistical Inference.

General Studies-(Finance And Economics)

The Staff selection commission has given a new name in the CGL i.e. Assistant Audit Officer(AAO), and for those who have applied for this post have to appear for 4th paper of tier II which comprises General Studies(Finance and Economics).

The students must be having a good knowledge of Finance and economics. The finance covers 40 questions of 80 marks whereas economics have 60 questions of total 120 marks and its important to keep this in mind to prepare accordingly.

There will be questions like of Graduation evel. You are advised strictly to study the subject from the general Book. Also keep an eye on the update policy of the economy and finance industry. Solve mock test regularly as this is the only way to get acquaint with different types of the questions.

How To Prepare For SSC CGL Tier III

The SSC CGL Pattern is updated now. The Interview or personality test are replaced by the Tier III which is a descriptive test. You can not now make guesses in the exam as there are no options.

Tier III is to test your proficiency of writing & you have to present your thoughts. You have to write some descriptive questions like essay, precise, application/ letter. The first step towards enhancing your writing skills is to start reading newspapers, good essays, magazines, articles, editorial section of newspapers.

Try to cover the topics like social issues, politics, schemes, finance, economics, sports, technology etc.You have to very good in writing an essay that will present you to show the right content in the best way. You need to learn all this by reading and practicing daily.

Next thing you need to know is to write letter and application. The candidate must know the  proper format and how to place every paragraph in proper place. If you are not aware of the format, then start getting the relevant study material to know this better.

The last one is precise writing. In  this you have to write a precised para based on the given passage. You have to cove all the details by reading and including all the important topics.

  • The duration of this test is one hour. You have to write esay and precise. Only focus on the useful information, logical argument and sensible conclusion. In any case do not exceed the word limit.
  • Go to good language skills & increase your vocabulary, it will help you build up your thought process.
  • Follow the format. You can’t go outside of it in terms of of your memory. It applies in all questions whether it is essay or letter, stick to the format.

How To Prepare For SSC CGL Tier IV

This is the last stage of the SSc CGL Exam. It is a computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST).The test is qualifying nature. It will be asking you some basic knowledge of some basic software tools like spread sheet, generation of slides and word processing are tested.

The candidate will be asked to write an article of atleast 2000 words in 15 min. The MS EXcel will be opened to test the the basic concepts of spreadsheet creation, calculating the data etc. And at last, for generation of slides, you must acquire basic knowledge of file address, header, date/time insertion, and Microsoft Power point.

The marks scored in this exam will be not be added in the final merit list. If you haven’t passed the test, then you won’t be qualified for the posts related to these exams.

Key points of SSC CGL Tier IV

  • Practice as much you can for the Exam.
  • There is a very less percent of mistakes are allowed in this exam.
  • The errors like omission /substitution /addition of a word or figure in the passage are considered full mistakes, whereas, spacing errors, spelling error, wrong capitalisation are half errors.
