Uttarakhand government aims to be malnutrition free by 2020

While inspecting the National Nutrition Mission program exhibition at Jwalapur in Haridwar district, Uttarakhand, the Governor said that the number of malnourished children in the district is increasing. Exhibition of all the materials and medicines should be used by the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department in the district to make a malnutrition free district. Baby Rani Maurya and Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya were present in the program.

The Governor inspected the exhibition and inquired about all the materials. On this occasion, he said that the number of malnourished children is increasing in Haridwar, to prevent this, the department has organized a program here today. In the program, fruits, milk, vegetables have been distributed to children in plenty and it is necessary to get nutritious food to protect children from malnutrition. He said that awareness among other people will also come through this program.

He said that in view of this, there is an effort of the Uttarakhand government to provide THRs to malnourished children and undernourished children from Anganwadi centers. He said that the state government has started adopting one child each to convert this campaign into mass movement. He told that which was started by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. The Chief Minister adopted a child, the Governor also adopted a child.
