The Election Commission of India has launched a special campaign to address the shortcomings in the voter list. Under this, all the mistakes like name, age, gender, photo and address registered in the voter card will be rectified. More than 80 lakh voters of the state are to be verified in the next one month. State Chief Electoral Officer Saujanya launched electoral verification campaign at the state secretariat on Sunday. He told that voters can also apply for this by downloading the voter helpline app from Google Play Store.
Similarly, applications can be uploaded by going to National Voter Service Portal (NSVP) and uploading related documents. He told that if anyone is having trouble in applying himself, then he can also take help of the Common Service Center. Applications made online will be verified through BLO. Along with this, the BLOs will also come home and verify the voter list. This work is to be done between 1 to 30 September. The final voter list prepared on this basis will be published on 15 October. After this, on January 1, 2020, a special campaign will be launched to record the names of voters who have completed the age of 18 in the voter list, the above voter list will be published again in January 2020.
